Sile na Gig - mapping the obscure

This project, in association with Arneli Art Gallery, Beirut, abstracts imagery from the obscure sculptures of western Europe, reinterpreting them as motifs of feminine power and sexuality. The genitals, the predominant feature of the Sheelas, has metamorphosed into a floral shape, symbolizing life and recreation.
