DAN HEFTY is originally from Wisconsin, USA and trained as a photographer, with his photographic career spanning over three decades. He focuses on cross cultural interactions and social motivations, specifically migrations and their impact on landscapes. By embedding himself for months amongst his subjects he goes from being an outsider to becoming an equal and friend, enabling him to pull back the veil most foreigners never penetrate.
ELIZABETH HEFTY was born and raised in the UK but has lived in the US, Europe, and the Middle East for the past decade. Despite several years of drama training at the Nottingham Youth Theatre, she ended up with a masters degree in Celtic Studies as well as a MFA in Painting, which she fuses together in her artistic practice. An abiding love of medieval travel narratives born from her MA thesis research was the catalyst for the concept of The Book of the Journeys.
